This will be a short and sweet one, but today was a reminder that you never know when you’ll want your camera.
This morning, as I was getting ready for work, I noticed how colorful the sky was as the sun rose. I decided to bring my camera with me and stop by the lake to get a few photos before work. Unfortunately, in the short time between leaving the house and getting to the lake, the sun had risen enough so it was now blocked by the bank of clouds and everything I was hoping to catch had disappeared, so I just went straight to work.
Then I headed home. I was enraptured again by the beautiful sunset, but I felt like I was out of time. I had worked later than planned, then had to run a few errands, and I still had to take care of dinner.

I was a few blocks from when I decided to just go. I made a quick turn and headed to the lake. The sun had mostly sunk behind the trees, but the sky was beautiful.

I may have gotten some better shots if I had gone straight there. Better late than never! And a great reminder to keep my camera with me whenever I can, because who knows when the right moment will come along.
