Spring is Back!

Green! Life!

I’m so thrilled it’s spring again. I did not get out much this winter, which as a bit of a bummer. But on the flip side, there wasn’t a ton of snowy days that drew me out.

But when it was cold enough for ice and snow, I did my best to take advantage!
When all else fails, Minnesota provides plenty of snow.

If I ever need proof that the seasons affect my mood, though, spring is it. When it’s warm enough to have the windows open overnight, I’m waking up bright and chipper to bird songs, as opposed to desperately trying to sleep through my alarm.

Much nicer alarm

With the flip to daylight savings time, I have more opportunities to get out after work and enjoy evening.

I love that sunsets aren’t happening at 5 anymore

A couple weeks ago, I managed to get out to the blue heron rookery in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Even the rain feels different now. During the winter, the rain is just cold and dreary and leaves nothing but slush or mud. Now it’s life-giving and the more we get, the more green appears.

Reflections of growth

So even as we get a few more days of snow or sleet, I’m still feeling good. Although I won’t complain if we don’t see 30-40 degree highs for many more months now!

I hope you’re enjoying the spring weather too. Here’s to more beautiful days!
